LS590: Social Media and Informatics

This begins at the end of May. Looking forward to what coursework would entail on this as libraries need as much marketing as we can get:
Description: This course explores the affordances of social software applications such as blogs, tagging, and online social networks and their functions in various work locales. Select objectives: Create and maintain social software tools such as blogs, wikis, RSS feeds, tagging, media sharing, and online social networking tools; analyze the impact of social software and social media on work domains and examine the range of their use in organizations of interest as they relate to a student’s major area of study; and critically evaluate social software tools within the context of an institution’s needs.
